Safari Permits & Zones
Safari permits are issued strictly by the Uttarakhand Forest Department portal against verified government photo identity proofs. Each shift and each zone has a fixed quota of vehicles. Once you submit your guest IDs and preferred dates with us, our desk coordinates your official permit, books an authorized 4x4 Gypsy, and assigns a registered naturalist.
Bijrani and Dhikala are historically celebrated for regular tiger sightings due to open grasslands, perennial watercourses, and high prey density. However, tigers roam throughout the reserve, and Jhirna, Dhela, and Durga Devi regularly yield spectacular sightings as well.
Yes, you can request your preferred zone and shift (Morning Sunrise or Afternoon Sunset). However, permits are subject to forest department availability at the moment of booking. We always recommend booking 30 to 45 days in advance.
Under strict Uttarakhand Forest Department regulations, official tiger reserve permits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable once generated. Name and ID changes are not permitted at the forest checkposts.

Elephant Safari Regulations
No. In compliance with Supreme Court orders and Central Zoo Authority wildlife welfare directives, elephant joy rides are strictly prohibited inside the core national park. Elephant safaris are organized exclusively within designated reserve buffer zones such as Sitabani Landscape.
A maximum of 4 adult guests are permitted on an elephant howdah alongside the certified traditional Mahout. Overloading is strictly prohibited.
Elephant safaris operate subject to weather conditions and periodic animal welfare inspections by forest veterinary officers. During extreme summer midday hours or heavy rain, rides are suspended to ensure the well-being of the gentle giants.
